The CBI's Anti-Corruption Branch in Lucknow registered an FIR against Pankaj Dubey, former Deputy Chief Engineer and Project Manager of WAPCOS Ltd, along with four others: Jigar Desai, Sheel Raidot, Raidot Infotech Pvt Ltd, and Utkarsh Software Services. The FIR alleges they received air travel and hotel accommodation from private contractors in exchange for facilitating their Jal Jeevan Mission project awards and clearing pending bills worth crores from WAPCOS. Dubey was posted in Solan, Himachal Pradesh from May 2020 to July 2025, during which Raidot Infotech received 10 Jal Jeevan Mission projects through WAPCOS. Investigators seized WhatsApp chats referencing pending payments and bill approvals. Dubey also faces a separate CBI bribery FIR filed 21 February 2026 and chargesheeted 20 April 2026, for accepting Rs 10 lakh in a tender-related bribe.

The CBI probe into the Odisha Police SI Recruitment Exam scam has reached a serving senior IPS officer. CBI has formally requested state government permission under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act to bring former Odisha Police Recruitment Board chief Susanta Kumar Nath within the scope of its inquiry. The Combined Police Service Examination 2024, covering 933 posts, was cancelled on September 30 after a paper leak surfaced. The racket demanded up to Rs 25 lakh per candidate for question papers, with layered outsourcing from the board to a Bhubaneswar firm to a local manpower supplier. CBI took over on November 12; arrests total 131, comprising 117 by Berhampur Police, 8 by the Crime Branch, and 6 by CBI. A preliminary chargesheet against 16 accused was filed December 26.
