Fraudsters built mobile apps, SD Pay and Apna Pay, offering tiered daily cashback of 0.15%-0.30% on investments from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 5 lakh+, adding legitimacy through bill payment and recharge features. A multi-level referral system recruited 2.5 lakh users, and Rs. 635 crore moved through 15 bank accounts linked to seven bogus companies, including S.D. Hub, Shiv Dharti Communication, and Upaya DG. SD Pay alone crossed 10 lakh downloads on Google Play. 83 NCCRP complaints were registered across India, and an SIT headed by IPS officer Jaiveer Gadhvi has been formed.
