High risk

Mumbai Police Crime Branch arrested a 36-year-old software developer from Indore who allegedly created and distributed 2,805 malicious Android APK files to organised cybercrime groups. The APKs posed as tools for senior-citizen card verification, pension and life-certificate submission, traffic-challan payment and credit-card updates, and typically arrived over WhatsApp. Once installed, they stole banking credentials and enabled unauthorised transactions.
